AMD's CPU's are trash and they're cheap for a reason.
For someone who doesn't use Windows you sure seem interested in Windows only API's. Love all of those OpenCL applications you listed by the way. ;)
I am not interested in Windows APIs. That's how the hardware capabilities are referred to. OpenGL has tended to lag in new features, so if the hardware has extra capabilities, it will probably support some future OpenGL version too.

There will be more media once there are more players, and there will be more players once there is more media. Which goes first? Players, naturally. Apple and the rest of the industry will just have to begin selling the players, and then the content will follow. Very soon I'd guess. The new Blu-Ray media can be sold at premium, so I think there will be a lot of discs to buy once certain threshold of players have been installed.

....as a continuation of Jobs last iTV performance. Apple will show how the connected world is going to look. You will have the Mac, the new iTV (probably a launch date will be provided), the new MacPhone, a new .Mac service that will be the key for phone content and syncing, and a new widescreen iPod (not sure about the touchscreen, but will be available immediately). And of course, a full Leopard preview that is the engine behind the full integration. It will become more about the concept this time. Much less about the devices as the Leopard launch will be the key of the platform. The iPod can be launched as it is not directly tied in, but the phone, Leopard and .Mac 5.0 are directly related. The 'top-secret' features? Push technolgy utilizing .Mac to the phone. And because the phone will sync two way with .Mac, your Mac will be kept updated on iCal, Address Book. And even iTunes will know what songs you wanted to purchase utilizing Gracenote's Music ID (the audio fingerprinting technology developed by Philips.)
Just my thoughts, but this is an area the will be able to become a major player in the market.

i would not like to see a larger screen, but perhaps higher definition say 360p or 480p instead of the 240p. no real updates on the OS.
I think it depends on what they want to achieve with it. Do they want a HD video unit? A portable login disk? Just a bigger 'classic'? An iPod Touch with a hard disk?
I could almost see an iPod Nano screen plus click wheel, with a 220GB HD.

No, it means the product has an intermittent defect unrelated to the otherwise stellar performance.
Point is that it IS their best phone. So Apple set out to make the best phone and CR's own testing validates that!
You don't seem to know the difference between a terminal defect and a high performing product. If a Toyota vehicle tests better than anything else out there in every normal category yet has a defect that while rare could kill you (i.e. no brakes or massive unintended acceleration), some readers JUST MIGHT want to know about that defect. And a magazine could in no good conscience recommend a vehicle that has a potentially fatal flaw even if in every other area it's wonderful. While the iPhone is not a "fatal" flaw, it is a potentially terminal one. If the thing is constantly dropping calls simply because you naturally tend to cover the antenna with your hand (for whatever reason), you should probably be aware of this. Given all previous iPhones did not have this problem, it SHOULD be pointed out so consumers can make an INFORMED DECISION.
But you and the other apologists on here (and that's being nice) seem to think they should ignore massive defects or that their tests are somehow flawed even though this is not a normal "testable" function. It's an intermittent DEFECT that Apple admits exists yet they do not seem to want to fix. If Toyota came out and said "we know some of our cars will potentially accelerate out of control, but we've decided we won't fix it but instead will wait for you to call us after you've discovered YOUR car has that problem" (assuming you survive it when it happens to you), I think there would be a more than a bit of uproar.... The Magic Trackpad � http://www.macrumors.com/2010/06/07/apples-magic-trackpad-or-magic-slate-revealed/ � would allow for multi-touch on desktops, enabling many iOS applications to be used on a desktop computer (and obviously laptops could do the same thing with their trackpads).
There are lots of ways this could be useful. For example: touch input in a desktop environment could be useful for manipulating or selecting MULTIPLE buttons/sliders/whatever independently, and at the same time � which you can't do with a mouse.
iOS apps are designed for touchscreen operations. A trackpad would fail miserably as an input device for these. Think about it, how do you know where on screen you are touching if you're not directly touching the screen. Trackpads work because of the cursor indication the position on screen. Touchscreens don't require cursors because you are "directly" manipulating graphical objects.
It just doesn't translate well to one another.

I really don't car about close racing in F1 as I would just prefer teams the engineering to be unregulated (except for safety). My opinion I believe is in the minority.
For road based cars, I want close racing. I really do agree that ALMS and LeMans are fantastic, as well as touring cars. If I ever go (which I plan on doing sooner than later) I might have to try to say "hi" to you. I much enjoy your photos. Being near the pits would be the cats meow for me. Its the work done behind the scenes and fuel/tire changes that make me feel as if I just drank 3 Chai chargers:D

Unlike F1, fans get full access to the paddock (but not hot pits) and drivers in ALMS. But you can get close enough to the hot pits to see what the drivers are eating between stints. Working the pits is pretty cool, but it can get pretty busy if all your cars come in at the same time.
The Austin GP is on for 2012. I believe they have broken ground for track construction recently. We plan to attend (we attended the USGP 2003-2007).

Not just Obama's attack....yes, signed on, but there was a request for rebels. I don't have as issue with the West using their military power for support, but there should be an internal force that wants the change and us strong enough to at least use some force without the West.
So why not Mexico? Mexico is experiencing way more violence than most of these Middle East countries yet their request for U.N. aid in 2009 was denied. They are on our doorstep and we are ignoring it for the most part even though we are partly to blame for the violence. The U.N. actually told Mexico just the other day to withdraw their own Military forces from the fight against the cartels.

I'm so excited for Belkin Grip Vue since I love that case for my 3G. I will most likely end up getting that. However, all the other cases look fairly cool, too. Decision, decision! :)

I feel the same way. I just want to delete an app that delete all of the junk that comes with it. Just moving it to e trash does not do that. Some programs have an uninstall and some don't. That's more confusing for people.

I've been a mac user now for about 4 years and yet the idea of having to delete an app by dragging it to the trash seems very... strange. You never know if you've deleted ALL of that program.
Microsoft have managed to get one thing right in Windows. A specific tool (Add/Remove Programs) to delete a program. That's something that I genuinely feel is lacking in OS X and this idea of clicking and holding in LaunchPad makes sense. It's imple enough: most users who own an iPhone will have no trouble in adopting this method. And what's more, it makes it instantly accessible to anyone who uses a mac. In addition, it goes a step further than Microsoft. It avoids making more novice users from having to delve in to a complex window of settings. A step in the right direction? I think so!
So personally, I think this is a very simple yet very effective change to make to OS X and should be a welcome sign of the things to come in Lion!

I am still really surprised that it seems as if nobody else has had the greyed-out toolbar in fullscreen Safari bug that I've got. Has anyone heard or read something that I haven't? I am much more looking forward to the next preview/beta build now, it suffices to say. ;)
I have the same thing happens with my safari in full screen where you hover your mouse over the top and the menubar slide down it is a bug because it the bar serve no function right now -that definitely did happen in DP!

Theres movies on Blu-Ray already.. and you can buy discs to burn too already... I think a BTO option is perfectly reasonable.

I think the biggest problem is that most HD-DVDs use a WMV codec. And any WMV file with DRM is unplayable with osx. I highly doubt these files lack DRM. So OSX will probably not be able to playback HD-DVD disks. BR uses MPEG2 currently and will transition to .h264.
Apple released DVD-RAM with Power Macintoshes back in the day, why can't they release BTO BR drives? I see it more as a viable Data storage than video playback anyway.

So long as Apple is around, I do not care if they are growing or not, nor do I want the Apple brand to become associated with ****. People already think Macs are inferior to windows... some guy IM'd me earlier today and the discussion turned to computers... I told him I use an Apple Macintosh, his first response is:
